The Story Behind the W
W is for World — the one I spent over two decades moving through.
More than 40 countries, dozens of cruise ships, and countless ports. I
didn’t travel as a tourist. I worked in hospitality logistics and
operations — the part of travel most guests never see — and I used every
moment of it to study one question: what actually makes an experience
unforgettable?
The answer was never the landmark. It was always the detail. The unexpected
moment. The thing you didn’t plan but can’t stop talking about when you get
home. I call it the wow — and I learned early on that it happens
differently for everyone. You can’t manufacture it. But you can design the
conditions for it to happen.
That’s why I built everything around guests and local cuisine ;is the one
thing that works everywhere, for everyone. It crosses language barriers and
connects people to a place faster than any museum ever could. A taste of
something local, shared with strangers who become friends by the end of the
afternoon — that’s not a tour. That’s a memory.
W Signature Experiences is based in Civitavecchia, the main Mediterranean
cruise gateway for Rome and the Lazio coast. I designed every experience
here the same way I learned to think about travel: from the inside out,
starting with how I want my guests to feel.
The W is for the world that shaped me. The experiences are what I built
with everything I learned.
